Bottom line: Use Slickdeals.com. this is the go to site for deals on anything. You can type in Xbox Live and see all the deals currently. You may even be able to subscribe to emails for that key word.

If you use bing you get points for searches and daily tasks, one of the items you can get as a reward is a month of Xbox live gold.

Just about once a month you can find a deal on Amazon. There is also eBay. I have been able to get mine every year from about $35-$45. When I find an especially good deal I purchase multiple years. You am currently good through 2019.

cdkeys.com usually has 1 year at 40 bucks and code delivered via email, but with black friday deals about to drop you might be able to shave off another 5 bucks or so
